Why does a listing show "Not Specified" instead of a clear answer?

GoNoGo reads the House Rules / policy text already on the page you're viewing — it doesn't guess. If a listing genuinely doesn't mention pets one way or the other, "Not Specified" is the honest answer, not a failure. Worth a quick message to the property directly if it matters for your trip. On some sites this is more common than others — see "Which sites does GoNoGo support?" below for why.

I scrolled the "Check pet policies" panel — why did a hotel I know allows pets still not get flagged?

The panel only knows about what it's found so far in that site's own pet-filtered search. Scrolling it further usually turns up more — the "N confirmed" count grows as you go. If a specific hotel still isn't flagged after a good scroll, it may simply be further down that search than you've reached yet, the same way it would be on the site's own page.

Tip: scroll the panel a bit as soon as you open it, before you start reviewing results — the site only loads its first few matches until you do, so an early scroll means fewer surprises (and fewer "found more" prompts) later.

Why do I need to click "Check pet policies" at all — why isn't it automatic?

Checking runs a small, real preview of that site's own filtered search, which is heavier than just reading the page you're already on. Making it a deliberate click keeps GoNoGo from doing that extra work in the background on every single search you load.

I hid some listings — why did a "Found N more, hide them?" prompt show up later?

That's expected. As the real page keeps loading more results (its own infinite scroll), GoNoGo checks each new batch against what it already knows is pet-friendly. Rather than silently hiding more listings behind your back, it asks each time something new turns up — you're always in control of what disappears.

Does GoNoGo work for finding pet-friendly places?

No — it's built for the opposite. GoNoGo helps people who want to avoid pet-friendly stays (allergies, sensitivities, preference) find and hide them. If you're looking for a pet-friendly stay, the site's own "pet-friendly" filter is the right tool, not this one.

What about service animals?

In many regions, service animals are legally exempt from standard pet policies. GoNoGo doesn't attempt to classify or exclude these cases — it simply reflects the general pet policy stated in the listing, presented more clearly.

Which sites does GoNoGo support?

Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Agoda, TripAdvisor, Priceline, and Trip.com today. Most of these work on both the individual listing page and the search-results page — the exception is Trip.com, listing page only, see the next question for why. More platforms are planned — see the feedback form if there's one you'd like to see next.

Results vary by site, since it depends on what each one actually publishes. Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, Priceline, and Trip.com state an explicit pet policy, so GoNoGo can confirm "not allowed" as well as "allowed." Agoda and TripAdvisor only show an amenities checklist rather than a stated policy, so GoNoGo can flag when pets are allowed but can't always confirm the opposite — that's a limit of what those sites publish, not a GoNoGo failure.

Why doesn't GoNoGo flag pet-friendly listings on Trip.com's search results?

Trip.com is listing-page only — visit an individual hotel's page and the badge shows its pet policy, same as every other supported site. But Trip.com's search-results page doesn't expose a pet filter or any per-listing pet tag to build a search-results feature on top of, unlike Booking.com, Expedia, Hotels.com, TripAdvisor, and Priceline. There's no reliable way to flag or hide cards there without it, so Trip.com search results are left as-is — check each listing's own page instead.

Why does a listing on Agoda seem wrong?

GoNoGo checks Agoda listings against Agoda's own "Pets allowed in room" filter — but that filter doesn't always match what's shown on the individual listing page itself. A property can list pets as an amenity on its own page while being missing from Agoda's own filter, or vice versa. When that happens, GoNoGo reflects Agoda's inconsistency rather than correcting it, since there's no independent way to know which one is right.

Why might a genuinely pet-friendly Agoda listing not get flagged, even after scrolling the whole check panel?

GoNoGo's Agoda check works by loading a live preview of Agoda's own pet-filtered search alongside the results you're browsing. Sponsored listings are served independently on each page load, so a sponsored card you see in your search results isn't guaranteed to show up in that preview — even after scrolling it fully. This mainly affects sponsored/"Ad" cards, not regular listings. If a hotel you expect to be pet-friendly isn't flagged, check its own listing page for confirmation.

Does GoNoGo collect or send my data anywhere?

No. Everything happens locally in your browser, using only information already on the page you're viewing. No analytics, no tracking, no external servers — see the Privacy Policy for the full detail.

Who makes GoNoGo?

GoNoGo is a personal project, not a company product — genuinely a pet project (pun intended). Bug reports and feature requests via the feedback form are read and noted, but as a one-person effort, don't expect a quick turnaround — some things may sit for a while before getting addressed.
