Pet-Free Hotels in the UK: How to Find One

Because "pet-friendly" isn't always friendly.

Search for "pet free hotels" and most of what comes back — directories, curated lists, guides — is built around US properties. If you're booking a stay in the UK, that's not much help: none of the well-known no-pets directories cover British hotels in any depth, so you're back to checking each listing's own policy by hand.

The booking sites themselves don't help either. Booking.com, Expedia's UK site (expedia.co.uk), and Hotels.com all let you filter for pet-friendly stays, same as everywhere else — none of them offer a filter for the opposite. What actually works for UK bookings

Since there's no UK-focused directory to lean on, the reliable options are the same ones that work anywhere: read the listing's own House Rules or policy section for a mention of pets, check its amenities checklist, or message the property directly if nothing is stated.
